Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA)
The Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) is an individualized reading assessment that provides a method for assessing and documenting students’ development as readers over time. It is administered at least once a year to students in grades 1-5. DRA assesses the student’s oral reading, measures comprehension as the student retells the story, evaluates fluency, and provides an independent level of reading. There are benchmark levels that have been established for fall, mid-year and spring.
