• My name is Marie Kazmierczak (Mrs. K). I'm excited to be the full time Speech Language Pathologist at Sugarland again this year. While I am originally from Michigan, I have been living in Sterling, Virginia for over 20 years. My husband, Art and I have three daughters; Jillian, Brooke and Jacqui. Our youngest is a Hokie and currently attending Virginia Tech. Our middle daughter is attending Shenandoah University for Graduate school and is studying to be an Occupational Therapist. Our oldest is a Doctor of Veterinary medicine and works at an animal hospital in Fairfax. Two other important members of our family are our two cats, Rosie and Luna. Luna also went to college this year and is currently living in Blacksburg with our youngest daughter!

In 1989 and 1990, I received my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Speech Language Pathology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I started my career working with adults in hospitals, rehabilitation units and skilled nursing facilities. After having my girls and moving to Virginia, I became a stay-at home Mom for several years. In 2006, I started working for Loudoun County public schools. I have worked with many different elementary and preschool students since that time and I look forward to working with the students of Sugarland again this year! I can be reached at marie.kazmierczak@lcps.org.
