Librarian: Mrs. BurelMrs. Burel graduated from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania with a degree in elementary education. She then went on to earn a Masters in Library and Information Science from University of South Carolina. She has 11 years of teaching experience, with four of those years being part of the fifth grade team right here at Sterling! This is her third year as the Sterling Elementary librarian, where she can share her love of reading and information with all of her favorite learners! In her free time, Mrs. Burel loves reading (of course!), exploring new places, and horseback riding. On Saturday mornings, you can find her getting muddy at the barn.Library Assistant: Mrs. Jeffries
Ms. Jeffries went to Virginia Tech where she earned a degree in Biology. This led to a career in cancer research. As a scientist, it is a natural fit that Mrs. Jeffries has taken on the challenge of leading our Sterling EDGE program to help students develop skills for inquiry based learning!
Mrs. Jeffries and her family have lived in Sterling since 1989. Mrs. Jeffries' relationship with Sterling Elementary began in the fall of 2001 when her son started here as a third grader. After seven years of working as a substitute teacher, she became the library assistant in 2010.
