Mrs. Amrhein's teaching career began in 1990 when she taught first grade in TX.  She has also taught kindergarten, second grade, K-2 Title 1 reading, and is currently a K-5 reading specialist.

In 2005, Mrs. Amrhein became part of the LCPS's family. She continually pursues new techniques or studies latest research to help students with reading issues. 

In her spare time, she loves visiting family (6 siblings, 2 children, and 2 grandchildren), attending a variety of reading conferences, checking out new authors at book festivals, and exploring historic sites! 

Besides working closely with classroom teachers by supporting, assisting, adapting and providing strategies to benefit all readers, she is especially thrilled when students share their excitement about books.
