FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSWhen is the library open?Library hours are 7:30 - 2:50 Monday - FridayHow often does my child come to the library?Grades 1 - 5 are scheduled for a 55 minute visit each week. During this time, there will be a 30 minute lesson, time for read aloud, and time for check-out. Kindergarten is scheduled for 30 minutes. The visit consists of a 15 to 20 minute lesson (which always includes reading a book or books) and time for check-out. Preschool comes once a week for a 15 minute read aloud. With the teacher's permission, students may come to the library at other times. Please see below for specific instruction and check out days for each class.How many books can be checked out at one time?Students in kindergarten may check out 2 books, students in grades 1, 2, and 3 may check out 3 books, and students in grades 4-5 may check out 4 books. A student may not exceed these limits, regardless of due dates, without special permission from the library staff.For more information, see our Circulation PolicyHow long may a student keep a book?The checkout period for a book is two weeks. After two weeks, the book becomes overdue.Can books be renewed?Yes. To renew a book simply bring it to the library to be re-scanned and you may have it for another two weeks.Are there fines for overdue books?No. We do not charge for overdue books, but if you have even one overdue book you may not check out any others.
