    The mission of the Newton-Lee Library Media Center is to develop lifelong learners and readers. 
     
     

    The mission is accomplished by: 

     

     

    Providing physical and intellectual access to materials in various formats.
     
    Encouraging independent learning and critical thinking.
     
     
    Fostering a love of reading and literature.
     
     
    Collaborating with teachers to provide authentic learning experiences.

     

    The goals of the library media center are:

    • Provide students with skills to access, evaluate, and use information effectively and efficently.

    • Integrate information skills into the curriculum.

    • Provide a collection that meets the needs and interests of the school community.
    • Provide resources and activities that represent a wide range of social and cultural perspectives, opinions, and interests.

    • Provide an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming yet conducive to learning.

    Policies and Procedures

    • Library books are checked out for a two week loan period.

    • Students will have a scheduled weekly (K-2), or (3-5) library time for instruction and check-out.

    • Students are welcome to return and check out books at any time.

    • Parents and students may sign into online-resources through the Students' LCPSGO login.
