• Virginia Reader's Choice Program

The Virginia Reader’s Choice Program highlights noteworthy children’s literature that has been published within the past 3-5 years.  Students in grades K-2 will be participating in the program in the library over the course of the year.  Students in grades 3-5 must read at least 4 of the titles on the list in order to fully participate in the program.  Students participating and completing the program requirements will have the opportunity to vote on his/her favorite title from the list in April. Three levels of “election results” will be shared with the students in the spring during a reading celebration.  These levels include: building level (Mountain View), county level and state level.  Children are often excited to see what their peers from across the county and state select as their favorite title(s) from the list.

Please encourage your child to read independently or with you in this program.  If you have any questions about the Virginia Reader’s Choice program, please stop by the library or contact me.

                                                              Thank you,
