    Welcome to First Grade

    Dear Parents,

Hi!  I'm Caroline Newlon, your child's first grade teacher.  I attended Mary Washington College and graduated with a BS in Psychology and an elementary certification.  This is my 14th year at Meadowland!  I love children, teaching and have 3 children of my own.  My oldest, Josh, works in computer security.  Sarah is a speech pathologist in Williamsburg and Hannah, my baby, is a traveling occupational therapist.

Please refer to the calendar for curriculum updates and information.  I will update this website to inform you of the happenings in our classroom.  Our first units of study will be Citizenship, Rules and Safety.  In math we will be working on sorting and patterns.  If you have something to share with us at anytime please feel free to contact me.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year with you and your child.  I will be giving you an overview of our year at Back to School Night on Monday, September 16 at 6:30pm.  I want to keep an open line of communication between home and school.  Remember that you may contact me at school (571-434-4440) or by email.  I am usually at school until at least 5pm daily.  Thanks in advance for all of your support!
