• All About Mrs. Anderson

     
                Mrs. Anderson is excited to begin her 15th year teaching first grade at Lowes Island. She is originally from New York, but moved to Northern Virginia to begin her teaching career here at Lowes Island. She is a graduate of The University of Richmond. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Elementary Education. She has a Master's of Education degree in Literacy from George Mason University. Her family and friends are extremely important to her. She lives in Ashburn with her husband and daughter. She loves to visit her nieces and nephews in New York and Georgia. Her hobbies include playing with Sophie, reading, running, hiking, making scrapbooks, and traveling. During college, she studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and enjoyed getting the opportunity to travel around Europe!
     

                She truly strives to live each day to its fullest. She creates a safe and welcoming learning environment for her students and loves to bring her creativity into the classroom. It is her philosophy that every child can reach academic and personal success if they are taught effectively, encouraged, and engaged. She is looking forward to another great year in first grade!!
