In 2011, the US Department of Agriculture retired the use of the food pyramid. Instead they implemented MyPlate. MyPlate helps children and adults understand how to build a well balanced meal by representing the food groups in a format they are use to seeing: on a plate. You can get out many wonderful resources by visiting their site at www.choosemyplate.gov
