Katherine Moravek ~ Library Media Specialist

Mrs. Moravek loves being the Library Media Specialist at Leesburg Elementary.   Mrs. Moravek has been a school librarian for 24 years.  She began her career in Arlington County, Virginia and has also been an elementary school librarian for Fairfax County Public Schools.  In 2008, she joined the Leesburg Elementary fami-LEE and became the librarian!  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology  and a masters degree in Information and Library Science from Catholic University in Washington, D.C.    Mrs. Moravek lives in Leesburg and has two teenage children, a son and a daughter.  She enjoys spending time with her family, visiting new places and of course, she LOVES to read!  She also enjoys science, math and doing puzzles.  She is a forever student and loves spending time in any library she can find.  Mrs. Moravek looks forward to working with students, staff and parents of the Leesburg Elementary community to continue to build a strong library collection.  Through the library, Mrs. Moravek will help to nurture a love of reading, exploration and learning.  She will teach students the many valuable resources the library holds so that they can better understand their world, evaluate information  and  become well informed, critical thinking digital citizens.

Charlene Duckworth ~ Library Media Assistant

This is Mrs. Duckworth's 10th year with LCPS, and her 8th year as a library assistant. She is a former accountant, but books and kids are really where her passions lie, and she is so thankful to have the opportunity to incorporate both! She has 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Her daughter and son-in-law also teach for LCPS, and her husband is an LCPS retiree. She keeps very busy with her  2 mini Australian shepherds, who happen to be two-year-old littermates. Most days you'll find her walking through her neighborhood, with her mini Aussies for company! Mrs. Duckworth LOVES to read, and hopes to pass on that love of reading to all students in our Fami-LEE
