• Welcome
It is a pleasure to be part of the Social Studies team at Briar Woods High School.  This will be my ninth year at Briar Woods, and my 28th year of teaching in Virginia. Before coming to Briar Woods I taught US History and US Government at Heritage High School in Leesburg. Prior to that, I taught US History and Civics at Rocky Run Middle School in Chantilly.  Probably one of my most rewarding experiences was at George Mason High School in Falls Church, where I was Head Varsity Football Coach. I completed my undergraduate work at Shepherd College in West Virginia, and the majority of my graduate work was done at George Mason University.
This year I will be teaching Economics.  One of my goals as a teacher is to provide students with opportunities to consider solutions to everyday problems.
Normally, I will be in my classroom at 8:15 am, and will be in the building Monday-Friday until 4:00.
Parents are welcome to contact me at any time.
    Thank you,
    Mr. Kennedy
How will we employ the 7 Principles of Economic Thinking when analysis, and decision making are required, in order to make effective economic decisions in the market place.
