• You really can study for a math test!

      Here are some suggestions . . .

      • Start early, at least two days before the test.
      • Go over the notes that you took in class and the examples that were worked.
      • Rework some of the homework problems, especially the ones you missed the first time.
      • Work some of the problems next to the ones that were assigned.  For example, if you were assigned numbers 1, 7, 12, and 18, work numbers 3, 5, 9, 11, and 15 and check the answers in the back of the book.
      • Go over any quizzes that you have taken in the chapter.  Make sure you can work any problem that you missed.
      • Work some of the problems from the chapter review or chapter test at the end of the chapter and check your answers in the back of the book.
      • Get together with a study group and discuss different ways to solve a problem.
      • Go in to see your teacher and ask specific questions that you do not understand.  Don't wait until the day of the test!

Don't just sit and stare at the problems, roll up your sleeves, sharpen your pencil, and get to work on them!  Practice really does make perfect!
