    Attention all Comets! Registration for the After School Education Program (ASEP) begins on Monday, December 3, 2018. The winter session will run from 1/14/19 to 3/1/18.
     

    Make ups will be held for classes that are scheduled to fall on Martin Luther King Day (1/21/19) and Presisdents' Day (2/18/19)

    Snack & Paint C. Nichols 1-5 70 10 Tuesday Students will have the opportunity to paint using different tools, materials, and have different methods of display. Not only will we have some fun painting, we will also enjoy working alongside one another building a school community; all while we enjoy some healthy (most of the time) snacks.
    Music-Palooza C. Nichols 2-5 70 10 Wednesday Join us for a mash up of singing, dancing, karaoke, and so much more. We will learn a few songs and also just sing for fun. We will even practice a few choreographed dances. Come join us and let those creative and artistic talents flow.
    Improv 101 R. Strohl 3-5 70 18 Monday Students will participate in a series of improvisational games, skits, and activities. Improv games can be active and energetic or quiet and reflective. They build focus, self-awareness, self-confidence, empathy, communication skills, and problem-solving skills. They teach kids how to listen, how to speak, how to lead, and how to follow. Students should be prepared to act and speak in front of group of their peers and, most importantly, to HAVE FUN!
    Homework Help K. Jeffers / A. Love 2-5 80 12 Tuesday Do your kids need help with their homework or are their concepts or subjects they are having are hard time understanding? Mrs. Jeffers and Mrs. Love are ready to help your student master the concepts they are actively learning in class.
    Sculpture Art Class C. Yoon 3-5 70 12 Wednesday Join Ms. Yoon as she takes the children through an artistic exploration of everything 3D. Your child will be hard at work creating and exploring 3-dimensional art like clay, papier mache, and origami. Imagine the amazing creations your little artist will bring home.
    Street Soocer Sterling Youth Soccer K-2 80 15 Monday Street Soccer is a skills training and free-play program led by a professional trainers from Sterling Soccer Club. Each week a new skill will be introduced followed by tournament-style games. In a fun-filled, positive environment, students will be encouraged to experiment with new skills and creativity will be rewarded. No previous soccer experience is necessary and boys and girls of all skill levels are welcome. This program will take place in the school gym, so please ensure students wear flat-soled sneakers.

    Sports Spectacular Overtime Athletics K-2 80 15 Wednesday Let’s Play! Save the best for last by finishing up the school day with Sports Spectacular, a variety athletic program that features different sports throughout the session. Participants will practice skills and play games in both traditional sports and playground favorites. The Sports Spectacular Variety Program features the best “to-do” list ever – Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football, Kickball, Capture the Flag, Wiffle Ball, Bump and Bite, Knights and Dragons, Numbers Game, Tag Games, Safe Base and MORE! OTA covers all the bases with our emphasis on playing, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fitness. Don’t miss out on the FUN!
    Basketball Overtime Athletics K-5 80 15 Thursday 3-2-1…Swish! Join us for Fast Break Basketball where we’ll “cross-over” between GAME PLAY and skills stations. The games within the game are where we will expose players to HOOPS skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense. Test your abilities having fun scrimmaging or playing games like Dribble Scribble, King of the Court, Hot Shot Shooting, Knock Out, and MORE! Be ready to take that last second shot, make that extra pass, and block that go ahead basket while learning the fundamentals of Basketball and the concepts of team work.

    All other classes please register on the Horizon PTBoard website. If you don't have a PTBoard account please register first by going to https://horizonpta.ptboard.com. Click on Sign-Up in the right-hand corner (on some browsers, you may have to click on the menu icon (3 horizontal lines) in the right-hand corner to see the “Sign-Up” option). Enter your information in the required fields. Horizon’s code for 2018-19 is “GNQ8X8.” A confirmation email will be sent to your email. Please check your email and complete the registration. Once you have an account you can register for AESP classes.
