• Meet the Counselors
Mrs. Darnell has been a school counselor in Loudoun County for the past 18 years.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Shenandoah University, a Master of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Utah, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from George Washington University.  Prior to becoming an elementary school counselor, she worked as a counselor at Stone Bridge High School and a learning specialist for the athletic department at George Mason University.
Mrs. Darnell is currently the school counselor for kindergarten (Bahn, Dailey, and Griffin), first, second, and fifth grades at Hillside and her office is located in the main office hallway (near the art room).  She loves cooking with her competition BBQ team, softball, traveling, surfing, snowboarding, and being at the beach!  Mrs. Darnell is excited about having another fabulous year at Hillside!
    Mrs. Tracy Peterson

I am Mrs. Peterson and I consider myself very fortunate to be one of your School Counselors at Hillside Elementary School!

I completed my undergraduate degree at GMU and my Masters in Counseling at VT Go Hokies!!  I have lived in Loudoun County for 20 years with my husband and 3 children. I love living in Loudoun County! Elementary school is such an interesting time for kids and their families I consider it an honor to be a part of the transformative years leading up to high school and beyond.

There are several ways you can get in touch with me:

Email me at tracy.peterson@lcps.org – or- Call 571-252-2170

Your child can leave me a note, there are forms on the outside of my door, I will get back with your child as soon as I possibly can.

Although my door is always open, it is best for parents to make an appointment ahead of time so I can be sure to set aside time to help you.

Showing up unannounced most often ends up with me being unavailable.  So email or call me first so we can set aside the time!
