• My name is Jocelyn Roeder and I am excited about starting another year teaching the fourth grade at Dominion Trail Elementary School.  I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1998 with my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and in 2003, I received my Masters in Education from GMU.  I have taught the fourth grade at Dominion Trail since 1998.
I love teaching this grade because my students  are at such a fun age!! I believe in maintaining a structured and organized classroom where learning and fun can happen.  I think it is important to give my students opportunities for group work and other activities which require them to get out of their seats often; no one enjoys sitting in his or her seat for six hours a day!  I also believe in giving my students feedback about an assessment quickly, so they can know which skills they have mastered and which topics need to be reviewed.  Finally, I want each of my students to learn a little about themselves and their world while they are in my classroom!
