COURSE TITLE:
Behind the Wheel – Practice Driving (Grades 10-12)PREREQUISITE:
Classroom Driver EducationDESCRIPTION:
The Behind the Wheel standards provide students with a detailed understanding of thefundamentals of driving and fosters responsible attitudes and behaviors. Students are
trained to respond to a variety of driving conditions. Behind the Wheel training consists
of seven (7) hours of observation time and seven (7) hours of driving time. To be eligible
a student must possess a valid Virginia Instruction Learner’s Permit and successfully
complete the classroom phase of Driver Education. This course is taught before school,
after school, and in the summer months and a fee is charged.
