                     Marketing Courses:

    COURSE TITLE: Advanced Marketing Co-op

     

    GRADE:  12

     

    PREREQUISITE: Marketing Co-op

     

    DESCRIPTION: This course offers training in pre-management level skills and is designed for the student who has a firm career interest in marketing. This course allows students to continue the arrangement of combining classroom instruction with supervised on-the-job training in a local marketing business. Instruction in this year of the program concentrates primarily on the development of competencies in the areas of sales promotion, merchandising, marketing research, and management. Entrepreneurship is an integral part of this class. Students are expected to stay employed throughout the school year in a teacher-approved marketing related job and work a minimum of 396 hours throughtout the school year. DECA, the student professional organization, is an integral part of this course.

    COURSE TITLE: Marketing Co-op

     

    GRADES: 11,12

     

    PREREQUISITE: Screening conference with instructor and Introduction to Business & Marketing is recommended

     

    DESCRIPTION: This course enables students to hold and succeed in an entry-level job in marketing. The course combines classroom instruction with supervised on-the-job training in a local marketing business. In this year of the program, students concentrate on developing competencies needed by marketing workers in areas of human relations, communications, advertising, display, operations, sales, and product & service technology. Students are expected to stay employed throughout the school year in a teacher-approved marketing related job working a minimum of 396 hours throughout the school year. DECA , the student professional organization, is an integral part of this course.

    COURSE TITLE: Sports, Entertainment, and Recreation Marketing

     

    GRADES: 10, 11, 12

     

    PREREQUISITE: Introduction to Business and Marketing recommended 

     

    DESCRIPTION: Sports, Entertainment, and Recreation Marketing is a course designed for students with an interest in the sports, entertainment, and recreation industry. This unique and innovative program explores all aspects of industry within each area. Students will focus on the marketing of these major industry areas as well as the human relations and management aspects within this industry. DECA , the student professional organization, is an integral part of this course.

    COURSE TITLE: Introduction to Business & Marketing

     

    GRADES: 9, 10, 11

     

    PREREQUISITE: None

     

    DESCRIPTION: This entry-level course is offered for all students and recommended as an introduction to the career preparation programs in Business and Marketing Education. Students explore the role of business and marketing in the free enterprise system and the global economy. They also study the operation of the American economy and apply decision-making skills as consumers, employees, and citizens. Communications and interpersonal skills are developed through various activities.
