PEER at Trailside Middle School
Trailside Middle School, in partnership with Stone Bridge High School’s PEER program (Positive Experiences in Educational Relationships), has a mentor program to provide extra social and academic support for select middle school students. The program matches students at Trailside with the PEER members at Stone Bridge. Mentors, under direct teacher supervision, meet with students several times a month at Trailside at the start of the school day. The visits are structured and may include time to socialize, play group games, discuss topics of interest, and address academic and social challenges and successes. This mentoring builds relationships between middle and high school students as a means to enhance social support and a smooth transition to high school.
