• The Loudoun County Public Schools’ Middle School Art Education Program infuses art production, art history, art criticism, and aesthetic critiques. The sixth grade art education program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to continue to develop a foundation of varied art skills, techniques, and concepts.

Students will produce, discuss, and write about their own art and that of others.  They will keep a sketchbook for the purpose of generating ideas, recording what they see, analyzing historical/professional examples and exploring imaginitive and symbolic ideas. Each student will establish a continuing digital portfolio containing images from their sketchbook, photos of their finished works of art as well as an artist's statement about each piece.
