    Mission Statement:

The mission of the Seneca Ridge Middle School library program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information so as to empower them to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.

    Circulation Policy:
The Seneca Ridge Middle School Library offers students a quiet environment in which to check out books, complete classwork and other library related activities.  Student id numbers are used to check out books, and hard copies of books can be found through Destiny, our library management system.  E-books and audiobooks can also be found through MackinVia, our E-book provider.

Students may check out up to three books, for a period of two weeks.  Books may be renewed, so long as no other student has a hold on the book, but the student must have the book with them for renewal.  If any book is overdue, nothing else can be checked out until that item is returned. Some reference materials, audio visual items and magazines are not available for student checkout.  Students may check out up to three e-books at a time for a period of two weeks.  If there are any issues with e-book check out, please let us know as soon as possible.

    Lost/Damaged Books:

It is the responsibility of the borrower to return or renew items by the due date.  While we do not charge fines for overdue books, borrowers must pay for any items that have been lost or damaged beyond use.  If any lost item is found and returned in usable condition within the current school year, and has not yet been replaced, a check will be sent to the student's home.  Lost items paid for through our online payment system are non-refundable; if the book if found at a later date, the book is yours to do with as you so choose.
To find out the amount due for a lost/damaged book, please see the library staff.  Patrons may pay with check (made out to Seneca Ridge Middle School), cash, or our online payment system - which is non-refundable (select online school payments from the main school page).  Please note, we can not make change - so if paying by cash, please bring in the exact amount due.
