Basic Skills
Basic Skills is an elective course designed to support academic, organizational, transition, and behavioral needs of students who participate in our program.  It is my expectation that each student will work with me and other staff members each day to improve his or her academic, interpersonal and independent living skills.  For some students, this means preparing for college.  For others, this means finding a career.  For others, this means passing a driving test.  It is my responsibility, through Basic Skills, to help students recognize what it is they need to learn and help them meet these goals.
    Online Instruction
Online instruction if facilitated by Odysseyware, a software program that allows students to take courses from the curriculum that they may need for graduation that they may not have passed the first time.  Other students take an online course to add some variety to the setting of their day.  Other students have schedules where courses they need don't fit into the schedule.  I facilitate instruction, grade work and provide feedback and pacing guides for these students.
We use Odysseware as our learning platform.  The link is https://loudoun.owschools.org.
    Study Hall
Study Hall with me looks a lot like Basic Skills, with a little less direction.  It is a time where your student can get some additional support preparing for tests and quizzes, completing work, and organizing.
