Mrs. Erin Sterling

Hello! My name is Erin Sterling, and this is my third year serving as your School Social Worker. I am very passionate about supporting our students, families, staff and the greater community! School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals who provide a multitude of services to promote and support students’ academic and social success, and we forge links between home, school and the community.

I obtained my BA in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my Master of Clinical Social Work (MSW) from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. In between these degrees, I completed a year of law school and a legal internship, after which I realized that my heart was not in practicing law. Prior to obtaining my MSW, I worked as a Senior Research Manager at a corporate strategy think-tank in both their DC and London, UK offices. After I obtained my MSW, I worked as a Psychotherapist in private practice, managed the DC branch of The Women’s Center, and served as a Mental Health Consultant to the US Navy and Marine Corps. I love to travel and explore new countries and cultures with my husband and sons. I also enjoy studying history, reading, exercising, cooking, working on my foreign language skills and volunteering with local non-profits.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. As I serve both Cardinal Ridge and Little River elementary schools, it is easiest to contact me via email. I am typically at Cardinal Ridge every Tuesday, Thursday, and every other Friday.
