Miss Lyons

Lori Lyons has been teaching in Loudoun County and at Sanders Corner Elementary for 25 years. This is her 26th year teaching. She completed a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1998. She has a Master’s Degree in Reading from the University of Virginia that was completed in 2004. She has taken several courses in special education through George Mason University. She has previously taught fifth grade (4 years), fourth grade (1 year), and is currently teaching first grade for the 21st year. 

She grew up in western Pennsylvania and moved to Virginia to teach after completing college. She still visits her family there often throughout the year. She currently lives in Leesburg with her boyfriend Keith of 11 years and her cat Pumpkin. She enjoys going for walks, reading books, watching movies, and visiting new places. She loves teaching first grade and puts her heart and soul into her job. This will be a wonderful year of learning!
