Ms. Cotton

Hello everyone,  

My name is Renee Cotton and I am the School Counselor for Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 5th grade. This is my first year at Cardinal Ridge Elementary and I am thrilled to be apart of such a welcoming community! Before coming to CRE, I attended Longwood University and received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work with minors in Leadership Studies and Sociology. While working for Social Services in Powhatan, Virginia,  I pursued my Master of Science on the School Counseling Track at Longwood University. 

Throughout the year I will be working with your scholars to ensure they have all they need to succeed. Ensuring ALL scholars succeed involves facilitating classroom lessons, small groups, and individual sessions. My lessons will cover a wide variety of topics from academic, to social/emotional, to career/college readiness.
