Ms. Hudson

  • I am thrilled to be the principal of Lunsford Middle School!  Thank you for your warm welcome and I look forward to working alongside our students, staff, families, and neighboring schools.

I grew up in Fairfax, Virginia and graduated from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte with a BA in Spanish.  I taught Spanish in Fairfax County in middle and high school prior to moving into school administration.  I graduated from George Mason University with my Master’s in Education Leadership and served Woodson HS, Herndon HS, and Lewis HS as Assistant Principal and Director of Student Services, respectively.  After 21 years in FCPS, I have joined the LCPS school system and look forward to learning and leading for years to come.

I live in South Riding with my husband, two children, and puppy.  We enjoy time with family and friends and spending long weekends away from the northern Virginia area.  I enjoy shows about investigative reporting, learning new things, and beach trips.

One of my core values is kindness.  I will lead Lunsford with kindness while maintaining high expectations for our students and staff.  I expect students also to be kind and show care for all peers and staff, as well as embrace learning from others with different experiences and backgrounds.  Every student, teacher and staff member is a valuable member of our school community, I want everyone to feel welcome and part of the Lunsford Family.  With our relationships with each other, and with mutual understanding, support and respect, every student will be comfortable and achieve their goals.

I encourage our families to attend parent nights such as PTA meetings, Back to School Nights, Principal Coffees, teacher conferences, and more.  Partnering with us to better understand your child will be the best route in supporting them so they can achieve success in many different areas.

    Let’s have a great year…Go Lions!
