• **For students who took the PSAT at Robey on October 10, we are waiting for information about interpreting the new test scores. See Ms. Ross with any questions.**

For 2023-24, LCPS high schools will give the PSAT during the month of October. At Robey, we will administer the PSAT on October 10. While the PSAT is not a requirement for graduation, a qualifying score (currently 21) on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 Reading Test can be used as a substitute test for the Reading SOL; a qualifying score in Math (currently 460) can substitute for the Algebra 1 SOL. In addition, students in Grade 11 who participate in the PSAT/NMSQT are automatically considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.

If you would like to practice for the PSAT, you may

    • Practice at Khan Academy. [Don’t worry that it says “SAT prep” - the PSAT itself is practice for the SAT.]
    • Take practice tests online or on paper.
