Degrees and Certifications:

Dr. Carl Hood

Dear Moorefield Shark Family,

My name is Carl Hood, and I am proud to be part of such an amazing school and community! This is my first year as the Dean at Moorefield Station Elementary School, and I look forward to working with the amazing students, staff, and families here.

Before joining Loudoun County Public Schools, I worked in Prince William County Schools for 12 years. I worked as a classroom teacher in fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh grades. I also had the privilege of working as a gifted education resource teacher for students and teachers in Kindergarten through fifth grade. During that time, I achieved and maintained certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards as a middle childhood generalist and earned my Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership.

Outside of school, I serve as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic with the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department in Manassas. I also serve as the elected department chief and participate in the countywide EMS committee. I am committed to ensuring every child enjoys a safe and effective learning environment while here at our wonderful school. If you have any questions or need anything, please e-mail me at or call 571-252-2380.

Have a "fin-tastic" school year!

Carl Hood, Ed.D
