Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Marshal Ausberry

My name is Marshal Ausberry, and I am excited to start my 16th year in education. This will be my sixth year serving as a Special Education Dean in LCPS. Prior to joining the amazing team at Moorefield Station, I worked at John Champe High School as a Special Education Dean and at Broad Run High School. While at John Champe, I supported teachers in the IEP writing process as well as facilitated IEP meetings. At Broad Run, I primarily worked with students with Intellectual Disabilities, focusing on independent living skills and functional academic skills.
I grew up in the Northern Virginia area and attended the University of Virginia, where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Upon completing my undergraduate degree, I obtained a Master's degree in Special Education from George Mason University, earning endorsements in both the general and adapted curriculums. In 2017, I completed a Master's degree in Education Leadership from GMU as well.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, watching movies, and reading good books. I enjoy watching sports, especially college and professional football. Earlier in my education career, I coached high school football and wrestling.
As I transition into my first year as a Moorefield Shark, I am excited to get to know our teachers, students, families, and the greater school community. If there is anything I can do to assist you, please let me know. I look forward to a great 2023-2024 school year!
