Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. McNamara

Greetings Cedar Lane Lions!

My name is Erin McNamara, aka Mrs. Mac, and this will be my first year as a teacher at Cedar Lane. I am thrilled to be a part of such an incredible school district and school community. Before moving to Ashburn with my family in 2021, I taught in New Jersey for 14 years where I taught 5th grade, 3-4th grade Gifted and Talented, K-2 Reading Recovery and Support, Kindergarten, and 1st grade. Last year, I assisted in the Classroom for Multiple Disabilities here at Cedar Lane, and I'm so excited to be joining the 2nd-grade team!

I graduated from Gettysburg College in 2007 with a degree in English and Elementary Education. I also received my Reading Recovery Certification from Lesley University in 2016. I love teaching language arts and incorporating children’s literature across all subject areas. I like to make learning fun, creative, interactive, and accessible for all of my students.

When I'm not teaching, I love to read, bake, and spend time with my husband, Jim, and children, Emma and Jack.
