Ms. Shahdan Tawfik

Hello and welcome! My name is Shahdan Tawfik. I am very excited to join Potowmack Elementary School as an EL teacher and a Math Interventionist. 

I was born and lived in New York. My family is originally from Egypt. My family and I moved to Virginia over 3 years ago. I received my bachelor's degree from Stony Brook Univeristy, New York. I worked as a teacher assistant at LCPS and in NY. I live in Sterling with my husband and my 3 boys. My favorite thing to do is spending time with family. I enjoy hiking, exercising, reading, cooking and spending time by the water. 

My approach to teaching focuses on having a safe, secure, nurturing, and a comfortable learning environment to provide optimal academic and social success to all my students. My goal as a teacher is to make learning fun and exciting to help students achieve academic accomplishment.
