Ms. Barnett

Hello!  My name is Michelle Barnett.  I began teaching in Loudoun County in 2006 and have been teaching at Buffalo Trail since 2015. My passion is teaching our multilingual learners!  

I received my first Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in International Education ESOL and my second Master's Degree in School Administration from George Mason University.    I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Mathematics from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas in 1988.  I am originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and have taught in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and Virginia. In Germany, I worked as an English Laboratory teacher for NATO for six years.  I am fluent in spoken German. 

I have three children who graduated from Loudoun County Public Schools.  In my free time, I  enjoy travelling and learning about other cultures. l believe that the love of reading unlocks the doors to learning.  I work to find the best methods for each student, which is the key to helping them achieve their full potential.
