Recorders at Arcola Elementary
-
All students in grades 3rd, 4th, & 5th will be playing recorders throughout the year, beginning in January 2024. Each student in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade needs their OWN recorder. Recorders have already been ordered through Arcola, and distributed to students before winter break. If you need to purchase a recorder on your own, please make sure you are buying a SOPRANO BAROQUE RECORDER.
We'll learn lots of songs in music class, but if musicians wish to earn their Recorder Belts, here are the songs for each color. You only need to choose one of the two songs to play for each color, either in person during music class or by submitting a video through this assignment link. You can test as many times as you'd like.
Remember, to get your belt, you must
-
-
- place your left hand on top
- articulate each note with slow, warm air
- play the rhythms correctly
- play the melody correctly
- read the music
