Bachelor of Arts in Social Work Master of Clinical Social Work
Ms. Ashley Olson
Hello! I am so glad to be at Harper Park as the school social worker.
I received my Bachelors of Social Work, with a minor in Leadership Studies, from Christopher Newport University and my Masters of Clinical Social Work from Boise State University. This is my 5th year at Harper Park and I am so happy to be a part of such a strong Unified Mental Health Team. I live in Reston with my husband, baby girl, and two cuddly cats. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, getting lost in a book, or taking a long nap!
Who are School Social Workers:
- Prepare Sociocultural Assessment for students in the evaluation process for Special Education services
- Provide individual and group counseling for all students
- Facilitate counseling groups using evidence-based curriculum to address issues such as healthy decision making, social skills, anxiety, anger and stress management, mindfulness, etc.
- Provide case management services for our Homebound and Homebased, McKinney-Vento, and Foster Care students
- Participate in school-based Restorative Practices (RP) circles and conferences as a facilitator
If you have any questions or are concerned about your student, please feel free to reach out to me. I work very closely with our school counselors and school psychologist in order to best serve your student!
