What is it and why does my child take it?
The VKRP provides teachers, parents, and administrators a comprehensive understanding of students’ school readiness skills at kindergarten entry as well as their skills at the end of kindergarten. VKRP complements Virginia’s statewide assessment of student's literacy skills, using the Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS), with assessments of early math (using the Early Mathematics Assessment System or EMAS) and self-regulation and social skills (using the Child Behavior Rating Scale or CBRS).
What do I need to know?
To learn more about VKRP and how it works, visit the VKRP website or the VDOE School Readiness website.
How will I receive the results?
VKRP results are shared on ParentVUE after the testing window for the state has closed.
