• Mission Statement

    The mission and purpose of the Steuart Weller Elementary School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive and developmental program in areas that will address the academic, career, personal and social development of all students. Students are encouraged to be responsible decision makers for their academic and behavioral success as well as respectful members of their community.

     

    Vision Statement

     

    The Steuart Weller School counseling program will enable all students to be productive community members and successful lifelong learners.  The comprehensive program will help equip students to identify and develop their own strengths, manage social situations, develop growth mindsets, appreciate diversity in others, and achieve academic and personal success.  

    We believe:

    All students and staff should be treated with dignity and respect. 

    All students can achieve academic success. 

    All students and staff should have access to school counseling program supports.

    It is the responsibility of the school counselor to advocate for equity.

    All students are entitled to comprehensive, development, data driven, and preventative counseling services consistent with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model. 

    All students and staff have the right to be serviced by a state licensed school counselor. 

    It is the responsibility of the school counselor to advocate for students and staff. 

    It is the responsibility of the school counselor to serve as a leader in areas of behavioral, emotional, and mental health expertise in the school.
