Ms. Phillips

Ms. Phillips started in LCPS in 2021, she started as a kindergarten teacher assistant at Cedar Lane Elementary and last year returned back to "The Lane" teaching third grade. She is excited to teach second grade this school year. She knew from a young age that she wanted to be a teacher when she had her first job as a camp counselor at her taekwondo studio, and realized how much she enjoyed working with children. She grew up in Loudoun County and her goal of returning to the county that shaped her learning and love for education was something special. She furthered her education by attending Northern Virginia Community College to receive her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts, then transferred to Old Dominion University to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.

In her free time, Ms. Phillips enjoys spending time with her family and close friends. Ms. Phillips’ mom is from Pittsburgh and her love for the city and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers every Sunday has become something she looks forward to doing on the weekend with her mom. Ms. Phillips’ dad is from DC so there is definitely some fun rivalry between the two teams of the Washington Commanders and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ms. Phillips is also the oldest of two children, her younger brother Myles completed his Master’s Program at Virginia Tech University, while also being a VT section leader for bass drums. Ms.Phillips enjoys playing with her dog Rocky who is a pitbull and boxer mix. Additional things she enjoys are watching movies, cooking, and traveling.

Ms.Phillips is excited for this upcoming school year and meeting everyone! If you need to contact her for any reason, her email is brianna.phillips@lcps.org
