The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The test will be administered to ALL students in grades 9, 10 and 11 grade students beginning at 9:30 a.m at Heritage High School.
WHY IS THE PSAT IMPORTANT?
- The PSAT/NMSQT is an important test as it can be used for various purposes. By taking the PSAT/NMSQT as a junior, students may meet the requirements to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.
- Your child's score on the PSAT can be used as a substitute for other required tests. This can help with graduation requirements.
- Your child's score on the PSAT can be used as part of the admission packet for the Academies of Loudoun.
WHAT IS NEW WITH PSAT 8/9?
The PSAT8/9 is administered to students in grades 8 and 9. The questions on PSAT 8/9 are grade-appropriate for eighth and ninth grade students. PSAT 8/9 scores are not sent to colleges. This assessment gives you valuable information about your child's academic strengths and weaknesses. The report will help you identify which areas your child will need to focus. NEW THIS YEAR!!! Students will be taking the PSAT 8/9 online! Students must bring their fully charged chromebook on testing day: October 12.
STUDENTS SHOULD BRING:
- #2 pencil
- Calculator [No calculators will be provided]
Please remind your child to do their best and take their time. Students with AUDIO accommodation will be tested over TWO DAYS.
