Thank you for your interest in shaping the next generation of school counselors! All LCPS school counselors must meet the following criteria in order to be considered:
- A minimum of a master's degree in counseling or closely related field and appropriate certifications and/or licenses
- A minimum of three (3) years (at least one year within LCPS) of closely related professional experience
- Knowledge of the University/College program expectations, requirements, and evaluation procedures for students
- Attend required site supervisor training. (Must have attended within the last five (5) years)
- Complete the LCPS School Counselor Site Supervisor Application
- School counselors will need two letters of recommendation. One letter from either your Principal or Assistant Principal. The second letter can be from any member of your UMHT.
Additional Information:
Each semester George Mason University holds an orientation for school counselors who desire to be a site supervisor. Information is passed on to school counselors via a forwarded email.
Site Supervisors are eligible to receive up to 90 recertification points per school year.
