FUSION

FUSION (4th and 5th Grade)

  • The  FUSION Program

Loudoun County Public Schools is in the process of phasing out the FUTURA program and implementing a new program for 4th and 5th grade gifted education. This year (2022-2023) will be the third year of the new program at Arcola.

FUSION stands for: Fostering Understandings, Sparking Innovation, Originating New ideas. This acronym and the logo featured on this page were both created by and voted on by LCPS gifted students.

    What does FUSION look like?

*FUSION is a school-based program. Students receive gifted services in their home schools.

*Gifted resource teachers collaborate with general education homeroom teachers to provide challenging learning experiences for students found eligible for gifted services. Students receive weekly enrichment in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math.

*Gifted-eligible students also meet weekly to collaborate on a variety of challenging, interdisciplinary projects on topics such as (but not limited to) innovation (2022-2023) and Leadership (2023-2024).
