Mrs. Carma Denney

Mrs. Denney graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory at Shenandoah University, in Winchester, Virginia, where she obtained a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a Performance Certificate in flute and a minor in piano. She loves teaching and making music. It is her passion to teach students to read music and help every student reach their fullest musical potential in the classroom and on the stage. This is Mrs. Denney's twenty-ninth year of teaching.

She has been active in community music-making for years, singing, directing church choirs and theater productions, playing piano, and writing musicals for VSA of Loudoun and Run Rabbit Run Theatre's musical productions. Mrs. Denney served as Music Director for Studio Bleu's Summer 2021 production of, "Mamma Mia," in Ashburn, VA.  Before working in Loudoun County, she taught elementary, middle, and high school General Music, Choir, and Band. 2022-23 will be Mrs. Denney's 21st year teaching in Loudoun County.

Mrs. Denney is honored to continue working with her writing partner this Summer, composing and finalizing the instrumental scores for "Once Upon a Christmas Carol," and, "A Musical Little Women," in hopes that other theatres will want to perform them.

When Mrs. Denney is not busy making or writing music, she enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Gizmo. She will be hiking, cycling, reading, treasure hunting for antiques, and swimming. She thought you might enjoy seeing Gizmo. He can always be counted on for joy and mischief!
