Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Omega Smith

This is my first year as a school social worker. I’m honored to join the Unified Mental Health Team at Tuscarora High School.  Prior to coming to LCPS, I served the Loudoun community working with the local court system and social services.  My professional background includes working with children, adolescents, their families, and adults in a variety of clinical settings including acute inpatient services, psychiatric residential treatment, and community-based programming.  My areas of expertise include anxiety, mood disorders, family/relationship issues, life transitions, and complex trauma.

I received my master’s in social work with a specialization in mental health and trauma from the University of Denver and completed my B.S. in Administration of Justice from George Mason University.  I am a Loudoun County native and a graduate of Loudoun County Public Schools.

In my role at Tuscarora, I will provide mental health and behavioral support services as well as targeted interventions for students.  I will also help provide community resources and case management for families acting as the link between the school, student, family, and the community.

In my free time, I enjoy attending live musical performances, learning about architecture and interior design, and relaxing with family or friends.
