Purpose of Weather Guidelines

LCPS Athletic Trainers recognize that hot and humid environments are ever present in Virginia and many of the school-sponsored athletic activities take place in an environment often threatened by severe weather such as torrential rainstorms, lightning, tornados, and blizzards. For this reason, the LCPS Athletic Trainers have adopted a severe weather policy for the purposes of protecting all LCPS student-athletes from the potential threat associated with lightning, exertional heat illness, and other severe weather dangers.
