    Route 81 Tour (part I)
The first tour takes you from Purcellville to Bristol on the Route 81 Tour.  From the Patrick Henry College in Purcellville area go west on Route 7 to Winchester.  The first stop is Shenandoah University.  Approximately 30 miles down the road in Front Royal is Christendom College.  Keep on traveling south on Route 81 until you come to Harrisonburg.  Now you have 3 colleges to visit.  Eastern Mennonite University, James Madison University and Bridgewater College.  Further down Route 81 in Staunton visit Mary Baldwin College.  In Lexington, you can visit Virginia Military Institute and Washington and Lee University, and nearby Southern Virginia University

As you continue on Route 81 towards Roanoke, you can visit Hollins University and Jefferson College of Health and Sciences.  Heading southeast from Hollins, you can visit Ferrum College.  Getting back on Route 81 South, you will come to the town of Salem, where you find Roanoke College.  Next stop is Blacksburg, home of the Virginia Tech Hokies.  Less than a half-hour away from VT, is Radford University (I am told you must watch your speed traveling from Christiansburg to Radford, there are many speed traps along this corridor).  Back on the road head west off Route 81, over the mountains to Bluefield College.  Continue on the western track and visit the University of Virginia at Wise.  Heading back up Route 81 north, plan to visit Emory and Henry College.  If you choose south, head for Bristol and visit Virginia Intermont College.

    Route 29 Tour (part II)
Travel down Route 15 south to Route 66 West to Route 29 South.  Your first stop will be in Charlottesville at the University of Virginia.  Getting back in your car continue on down Route 29 south to Sweet Briar College.  Continue on Route 29 to the Lynchburg area and plan on stopping at Randolph College, Lynchburg College and Liberty University.  Back on the road again take Route 460 east and visit Hampden-Sydney College and Longwood University.  Stay on Route 29 and the last stop on this tour is Averett College in Danville.  Danville, VA is very close to Greensboro, NC so you might want to check out the colleges in that area.

    Route 95 Tour (part III)
The final step in our tour is the Route 95 tour.  The first stop is in Fairfax with a visit at George Mason University.  While in the Northern Virginia area run on over to Marymount University.  About an hour down Route 95 is the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg.  Next stop on Route 95 in Richmond is the University of Richmond, Virginia Union University and Virginia Commonwealth University.  Continuing on the next stop is Virginia State University in Petersburg (while you are in the Petersburg area check out Virginia's only junior college -Richard Bland College - a branch of the College of William and Mary).  Now take Route 85 south and head into Lawrenceville for St. Paul's College

Route 64 College Tour (part IV)
Take Route 64 east from the Richmond area and visit Williamsburg to see the College of William and Mary.  Next stop is Christopher Newport University in Newport News.  While in the area be sure to visit the remaining campuses of Hampton University in Hampton, Norfolk State University, Virginia Wesleyan College, Old Dominion University in Norfolk, and Regent University in Virginia Beach.
