•   BRMS DRAMA

Blue Ridge Middle School has a long and proud tradition of excellence in theatre! The BRMS PTO is responsible for funding and organizing all theatre-related activities at Blue Ridge Middle. We arrange and produce two shows per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Fees for these activities range from approximately $165-$185 per student, depending on the session, to help cover the cost of the production. Our shows include:

    1) A fall play workshop, focused on introducing middle school students to acting and technical theatre.  Students choose to focus on acting or tech and work to produce a play which is offered as a free performance, one night only, in the BRMS Auditorium at 7pm on Thursday, October 26th. This fall the students will perform 3, one-act plays, "Around "The Campfire", "Monsters Anonymous", and "The Poe Plays". These royalty-free plays are part of a fantastic collection of plays for kids and teens on Drama Notebook.

    2) A spring musical, for which students must audition and tech crew must submit applications. This is one of the most popular activities at BRMS, in which students at all grade levels and experience levels come together to put on a marvelous show under professional direction for acting, music and choreography. Approximately 40-45 student cast members and 15-20 crew members will be accepted. The three-month rehearsal period culminates in a full weekend of ticketed performances. Parent volunteer support is crucial for this production to be a success! More information on this year's show, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JUNIOR!
