School Health Advisory Board
The Loudoun County School Board established the School Health Advisory Board (SHAB) per the Code of Virginia 22.1-275.1 on November 10, 2020. The school board nominated 20 members, including a student representative, to serve on the advisory board. Per the Virginia Department of Education guidelines, part of the functions of SHAB are:
- Provide Visibility for Coordinated School Health Services Program
- Involve Parent and Community Partners
- Serve as Advocates for Coordinated School Health
- Host Forums for Community Health Issues
- Recruit Community Health Services
- Facilitate Understanding of Schools and Communities
- Promote Public Relations
- Facilitate Innovation
The advisory board will work closely with Loudoun County Public Schools Department of Student Services and Student Health Services.
