Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Brittany Brewer

It is my utmost joy to introduce myself, I am Brittany Brewer! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone as we work together this year, but first a little about me. I am originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, but moved around a lot once my father was hired by the State Department. We ended up in some pretty cool places like London, England, where I got to travel around much of Europe, and gain some insight about the world through the eyes of a middle schooler. My family eventually ended up in Winchester, Virginia. I have placed my roots here, to include, but not limited to meeting my wonderful husband. After graduating from high school, I attended Christopher Newport University, where I studied Political Science and American Studies with a minor in Leadership Studies. Post college I knew I had a passion for government and helping people, which led me to working for Frederick County Local Government with the Children’s Services Act. I spent several years helping at-risk youth, and got to see how my department’s work really helped students in the classroom and in the community. In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, spending time with friends and family, and traveling and going on adventures with my husband. Additionally, I love to run, and have the pleasure of giving back to the community by coaching youth cross country in conjunction with Parks and Rec. My coaching experience was my “ah-ha” moment where I realized I really enjoyed teaching and being a mentor to my runners, and why not expand that love to the classroom! I love working with students and athletes and helping them reach their educational, social, and extracurricular goals.
