Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Chapman

This will be my third year teaching EL at Cool Spring, and I will be co-teaching with our fabulous 5th grade team!  I look forward to working with our students in reading, writing, science, and math.  I have been an EL teacher with Loudoun County Public Schools for 13 years.  Cool Spring has always held a special place in my heart because my two  daughters attended this school and I previously worked at Cool Spring as substitute teacher and teacher’s assistant.  The staff and community here actually inspired me to switch careers and become an EL teacher.

I was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Fairfax, VA.  I graduated from VA Tech with a Bachelors’ of Art degree in Political Science and a minor in History.  In 2016, I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University. Prior to teaching, I worked for various congressmen on Capitol Hill, and for the Governors of both Virginia and South Carolina.

I have lived in Leesburg over for 24 years with my husband, Brent and our two daughters, Sydney and Megan.  I have two pets, Hammie, our cat, and Kuzie, our dog.  In my spare time, I love to travel, cook, read, hike and kayak. My favorite vacation spot is Bethany Beach, Delaware.  I am also a huge Washington Capitals fan!

As an EL instructor, I recognize the unique contributions students can make towards our learning experiences.  Mutual respect, tolerance and high academic standards are the expectations in our classroom.  I look forward to a successful and fun school year.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year.
