Mr. Kyle Samuels

Hello all! I am very excited about starting this 2023-2024 school year at Independence High School.

I am originally from South Bend, Indiana and have called Virginia home for eight years now.  If you're a fan of Notre Dame, then we already have something in common! I earned my B.S. as well as my M.A. in Technology and Engineering Education from Ball State University. Before arriving at Indy, I previously taught technology education at Trailside and Mercer Middle School. The classes that I will be teaching this year include PLTW Intro to Engineering Design, PLTW Principles of Engineering, Architectural Design and Drafting, and Aerospace 2.  In addition to those classes, I am also continuing to work with the Theater Department as the Technical Director.  

Prior to teaching, I worked in a variety of fields encompassing architecture.  I was a drafter for interior designers, landscape architects, construction companies, and the commercial modular industry.  While in college, I often spent my summers working for the architectural department at Notre Dame University.  

In my free time I enjoy traveling, hiking, cooking, reading, cycling.  I also really enjoy going to concerts, conventions, festivals, and spending time with my wife (Nasreen) and our three cats (Max, Dobby, and Chloe).
