Mr. Christopher Berger

Welcome to the 2023-24 School Year. I am excited to be teaching Gourmet Foods and Culinary Arts as well as Cyber Operations this year.  I am a Career Switcher who has personal interests in gardening, cooking, exercising, reading, and watching sports.  My favorite part of any job is getting to meet and work with new people, so I’m excited to get to know my new peers and students.  Whether teaching, coaching or mentoring, I love enabling the success of the person that I am supporting.  I know this will be a successful year.

 Bio:

I spent my childhood in Roanoke, VA where I graduated from Cave Spring High School in 1995.  After High School, I attended Virginia Tech from 1995-99 where I graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering.  Since graduating from VT, I have lived in Northern Virginia, been married for 21 years, and have three sons ages 19, 18, and 16 who attend Virginia Tech and Potomac Falls High School.  My professional career prior to teaching was in the Telecommunications Industry.  I began as a network operator where I learned the industry, then leveraged that knowledge to move into a Technical Sales Role at various Service Providers and Hardware Manufacturers.  In May 2021, I completed the Career Switcher program at Shenandoah University and became a teacher at Rock Ridge High School.
